November 27, 2023 @ 11:30am

Please join us on Monday, November 27, 2023 to welcome our Guest Speaker, Dennis Molnar. He will address the Society on “Living Behind the Berlin Wall”.

What was it like to live behind the Berlin Wall?  Why did men and women become informants and spy on their spouses, children and friends?  What were conditions really like in the Stasi Secret Police jail?  Come and meet a Lady who lived behind the Wall, a Man jailed by the Stasi and visit the Stasi jail.  See rare photos and learn the deep secret why the Wall finally came down.

Dennis Molnar worked for, and was a Director of, a technology company that supplied satellite photo mapping systems for use by the Military.  An Electronics Engineer by education, he visited Military Agencies on five continents, was in Iraq during the war with Iran, and in Libya during its 1980’s high tension with the USA.  Having visited over 50 countries, he studied the role of maps in War History and decided to share his passion and knowledge as a Lecturer.  Dennis specializes in telling captivating and intriguing stories of people and events that have helped shape our history.

Dennis received his MBA, became the Managing Director of a Technology Company, taught at the University of British Columbia, and has served on various Advisory and Boards of Directors (including the Churchill Society of British Columbia). For the past 20 years he has presented World War II and Cold War History to Businesses, Professional Groups, Museums, and Societies.
