Evening with Churchill: “Churchill the Painter” with guest Speaker Sidney Allinson
Please join us on Thursday, October 3 to welcome our guest speaker Sidney Allinson. He will address our Society on “Churchill The Painter.” Sidney Allinson is Vice-President of the Sir Winston Churchill Society of Vancouver Island, a past-Director of the Royal Canadian Military Institute, and was Chairman of the Western Front Association`s Pacific Coast Branch. His illustrated talk on “Churchill The Painter” explores the remarkable influence that creating art had upon Mr. Churchill`s personal and political life.
Sidney lives in Victoria, BC, where he keeps busy as a novelist and military historian, author of six published books as well as numerous magazine articles, film scripts, and book reviews.
Sidney’s books include The Bantams: The Untold Story of World War One, Hell on Earth: A history of World War One and Bloody Dieppe: Eye-witness accounts of the 1942 Dieppe Raid.
He has also written Season for Homicide, a police procedural thriller, Kruger’s Gold, a novel of the Anglo-Boer War, Raw Country, a novel of the Northwest fur-trade, and Jeremy Kane, a Canadian historical adventure novel of the 1837 Mackenzie Rebellion and its brutal aftermath in the penal colonies of Australia.

Cost: $25 each for a Member of the Society, $35 each for a non-Member, $40 for a Member accompanied by either a spouse, partner or an immediate family member.
