Please join us on Monday, December 2 to welcome our guest speaker Prof. David Freeman. He will address our Society on “Churchill and Democracy.”
After serving as a nuclear submarine reactor operator in the U.S. Navy during the Cold War, David Freeman earned his Ph.D. in modern British history at Texas A&M university and teaches at California State University, Fullerton. He received the California State University Fullerton School of Humanities & Social Science Outstanding Lecturer award in 2008.
Professor Freeman teaches World History, Modern Europe, Modern Britain and European Liberalism. He is the editor of the Chartwell Bulletin, the monthly online newsletter of the Churchill Centre.
David is on the Editorial Board and is a regular contributor to the Finest Hour, the quarterly print journal of the Churchill Centre. His publications include: “How True is the King’s Speech”, “Winston Churchill & Eamon De Valera” and “Voices From the Deep: Life and Culture Aboard US Navy Nuclear Submarines During the Cold War”.
